WOW!!! Just got home from the show! Amazing! Melissa tore those strings up. I wish I could see every show. Very good performance, great banter. I so want to hear I Will Never Be The Same,Your Little Secret and some good covers. Tori Amos did this very same thing in 2005 Fans submitted requests for 2 cover songs each night I got to hear some awesome tunes like

I'm On Fire- Bruce Springsteen
Liv To Tell- Madonna
Do It Again- Steeley Dan
Dream On- Aerosmith
etc etc

I can't wait for Niagra.

Melissa had some awesome banter. During "Yes I Am" some bubbles from the fair had floated by and so she talked about that. Then during "I Want To Come Over" she called herself a stalker, which was hilarious. Much of the banter had to do with the subjects of her songs, self deprecation. She made a funny joke about her not paying her taxes. She told alot of little anecdotes and stories, similiar to the previous Live and Alone and The Revival tour. All in all she was funny as hell, and extremely witty. I hope to see her again. I could listen to her talk all night.

I am barely able to contain myself after reading the setlist, the banter and now the great photos. Isn't that Rhondda? Chicago, here I come! And like you, Angie, I am so hoping for Giant! What a great surprise that Melissa is actually touring this summer, and she's live and alone and just fantastic!!! I do so love and admire her!

too funny! i actually brought a few shirts to wear because i couldn't decide which one to wear to the show. but then when i finally did decide which shirt to wear, i realized i had left it on my bed and forgot to pack it. then i figured it was safe to wear my red MLE shirt since i knew Mare wouldn't be there. we've actually worn that same shirt at the same show back in 2006 - Lowell 3.

but oh, dear, the wind/humidity must have done something to my hair!

anyway, the REAL point of that photo is not the lovely folks in the photo but the ticket price: $18! of course, i'm guessing that those tickets would be far, far back, but still!

BTW, All the Way to Heaven was on the set list, but not played. this is the 2nd time this year the song has been on the set list, but skipped. it was on the set list for the Rancho Mirage show, too.

OMG!!!!!!! "All The Way To Heaven" is my ALL TIME favorite MLE song!!!!!!!!! I'm even learning to work out the finger picking for that lovely guitar rolling sound as we speak!!!! MAYBE she'll play it in Hammond, IN!!!!!!!!!! All fingers and toes crossed here.

She said she liked to watch what her songs look like in sign language... then she said "Come to my window..." and mimicked the sign... and then she said "crawl inside"... and the sign language translation for that was hmmmmm... interesting... so she really liked it... and then she said "crawl inside, crawl inside, crawl inside..." I thought it was HILARIOUS!

What a great show!!! I say her In Rancho Mirage a few months ago and I had a great time there too. It is great to see her playing and singing solo. I just love her music!

Angie... thanks for sharing that. WAY back in 1994 or 95, I had a patient who was born hearing but eventually lost the capability. I happened to have Yes I Am in my bag and she played Silent Legacy on her cd player and read the lyrics and signed it to me... it was so amazing!
