much shorter show tonight. MLE said she didn't get to the hotel until 5:30 am this morning without her luggage after 3 cancelled flights (including a possible helicopter ride from Toronto). based on her comments, it sounded like they had to drive in from Chicago.

a bunch of us held up signs for This Moment. MLE did most of the song for us, but forgot a good chunk of it. she said she's going to do it again tomorrow.

Stay with Me (not Stay) was *incredible*. just the absolutely perfect vehicle for MLE to show off her pipes. damn, it was worth the price of admission just for that one song alone.

Hi everyone. Head on over to the Street Team page to check out the INCREDIBLE video we uploaded last night of Melissa performing Stay With Me...to say we were all blown away is an understatement, I think everyone agreed this was Melissa's all-time most amazing performance to showcase her incredible pipes. As Rhondda said, that one performance was worth the price of admission. There is actually no video on the video due to the hyper-alert security (!!), so it's just the audio, but it's amazing...check it out!

I love this song! I am a HUGE Bette fan!! From age 13 I saw her first time at the palace. This movie I'd seen like 20x several when it came out and then every time it appeared on TV. So glad that Melissa is a big fan of Bettes also.

Everytime Bette has been in NYC I've seen her. More times years ago when she was performing more than she does now.

Melissa was incredible!! So wish there was video of this!! But of course audio will have to do and I shall be listening to this over and over again too!! Thanks so much for catching this special song!!

I absolutely LOVED listening. And I am continually amazed by her talent. I absolutley cannot wait until next weekend when we get to see her in Tunica. This just amped up my excitement about the concert ten-fold! Thank you for sharing this with everyone here. And, I'm so glad I got to see videos of her other covers from the tour as well. Another incredible moment was that Angie and Dawn requested This Moment, so Melissa sang the song to both of them, and mentioned her UK fans who follow her. Great moment for them.

She WAS GREAT venue staff were jerks. Bitey I saw some guy trying to get u to sit down repeatedly during comw. I filmed the cover using Anges camera. But all I got was lights. I was trying to get her but also trying to not alert the security nazis. It wasn't until IRFL that we were allowed to stand at the stage. I hope Binghampton is better. PLUS SHE CUT 5 SONGS FROM THE SET WTH???

I will be honest here and say that out of the 11 shows I have seen this was the WORST. I know MLE has to play to the casual fans but would it kill her to rehearse something new (Watching You, The Boy Feels Strange, Place Your Hand, The Prison, Resist etc) . She still put on a very energetic show. I will also add that the cover song Stay With Me was excelllent. I guess for me I was hoping that since she was Live and Alone that I would get a pretty interesting setlist and not a rehash of songs that I have heard soo many times. I could do without hearing Precious Pain and Don`t You Need for a while. Also the venue staff were terrible which leads to another point. If this is what happens at Casino shows then why doesn`t her booking people stop booking her in Casinos. It is clearly upsetting when the Fan Club Members or reg ticket holders in the first few rows can`t enjoy themselves in the front of the stage or even standing in their own row. Someone said that it is a liability issue in case people get hurt but if they would let us stand up and take our spots a few moments before showtime I am sure that would solve the liability issue to a certain extent. Also I know it is not her fault that she was delayed but if the show was going to be cut short why didn`t they say something. No one mentioned that she was tired or under the weather or whatever the reason was as to why the show was cut short.

In closing I am still glad that I saw her, but if I had known how bad the security was going to be and that the show was going to be shortned I might not have gone and saved money for another show on the tour.

We would sit down, then get back up.... :lol:

There did seem to be a lot of 'casual' fans there...we were surprised by the 'diverse' crowd....

Almost all the people in the front few rows looked LOST except for the fans -what a weird mix :lol:

I have to say this, they seemed to enjoy it, but they and security sucked the life out of the show until they let us rush.

I really hope that for the tour in 2010 that Melissa goes back to using regular theaters and NOT casinos. I had luckily drawn a great ticket in Hammond, but I must admit I missed having everyone around the stage. It was kind of weird standing in front of my seat with so much space available around the stage. Security, even after the stage rush near the end of the concert, was acting like they were the secret service or something in the way they were scanning the crowd. It was weird. Bitey, to be asked to sit down when you ARE standing at your seat is COMPLETELY ridiculous. I hope that Melissa is noticing all this. 8-)

WOW - "Stay With Me" from The Rose........I always thought this would be a great song for Melissa. I am also a huge Bette Midler fan (I'm a gay man - it's a requirement)!

I hope she does this song when I see her in NY in August.

I have to agree...I'm still listening to it in my car, I'm addicted, it blew me away like no other live performance I've ever seen...it actually almost brought me to tears.

I know she is doing a different cover every night, but I sure hope we get to hear Stay again in that last week of August, it would be amazing.

I had no computer until last night, want to say the Hammond, IN concert was totally awesome, Melissa was in great form, incredible voice and guitar playing! Loved the new song, it was beautiful and very touchong. Had a memorable time with all of the ladies I "hung with"! Thanks so much. Glad you made it safely to Niagara, what a view you had from your window! Melissa's cover of the Bette Midler was off the charts!!! Thanks for all of the videos, audio and photos! When I listen to it, I get that "back in the moment" feel...you know when you hear a song or smell a scent and it can just take you right back to a moment in life? That is what that song does...I can remember so clearly sitting there with my friend, Coll, at her first MLE concert ever, and she was just slowly shaking her head back and forth in sheer amazement at MLE's voice in that song. Beautiful, beautiful performance.
