Wow what an absolutely wonderful wonderful wonderful show.

OK picture of setlist but this changed she played 'the different' instead of California, we got 'I Want You' I will post another picture showing you the lyrics that got attached to the set list.

We knew tonight was going to special MLE has promised us at the M&G she was going to play something we had never heard before, ooooh what could it be.

Cover song was an old Rock n Roll song (think it was Elvis, but it was a old one I did not know about trains lol) then she did Johnny Cash 'Folsom Prison Blues, which just brought the house down, both songs on electric guitar.

OK going to check I think Dawn got the cover and 'I want you'.

Well it was a blistering concert, security let us rush from the beginning and the crowd was in great spirits.

Great night.

OK, so there were 2 songs! i heard MLE say she was going to do a couple of songs (via Mare's phone) but i couldn't identify the Elvis song and thought it was just part of "Folsom Prison Blues". before going into I Run for Life, i heard MLE mention how everyone went into music because of Elvis. or something like that. ;-)

and I WANT YOU!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! motherf...!!!!!! never seen that one either!

*rhondda*

p.s. Mississippi = MS; Michigan = MI :-)

OMG dream set list! Nowhere to Go has always been one of my favorite songs of Melissa's, I have heard it now twice at L&A and I could hear it every night and love every minute of it; Mercy, YES!, love love love it, hoping for it the last week of August, The Letting Go my favorite piano song of hers, wow wow wow, what a great set list. Sounds like yet another rockin' show! :wheee!:

Another incredible night. First time I heard The Different this tour (LL if you requested, THANKS) and I really liked Mercy with the harmonica. The Letting Go was beautiful on the piano and I Want You, just wow! Great crowd, security was good. Show lasted about 2 hours. The Elvis cover may have been Mystery Train, not sure.

Rhondda is correct, it was Mystery Train.

Mystery Train is a song written by Junior Parker and Sam Phillips.[1] It was first recorded in Phillip's Memphis Recording Service and Sun Records at 706 Union Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee in 1953. The band was listed on the label as Little Junior's Blue Flames. "Mystery Train" and "Love My Baby" was released late in 1953 on Sun #192, and from the beginning the sound and feel of "Train" gave Parker his first taste of fame and name recognition.

Elvis Presley's version of "Mystery Train" was first released on August 20, 1955 as the B-side of "I Forgot to Remember to Forget" (Sun 223). It was again produced by Sam Phillips at Sun Studios, and featured Presley on vocals and rhythm guitar, Scotty Moore on lead guitar and Bill Black on bass. Moore's guitar break toward the end of the record is an echo of the 1946 "Sixteen Tons" by Merle Travis.

The concert was WONDERFUL! We really liked the venue, security was great about letting fans near the stage. We enjoyed our seats from the sixth row. I was so glad cameras weren't considered contraband, lol.

It was funny that she thought she was still in Tennessee while talking about Tunica. I wish she would do a show in Tennessee (preferably closer to home, say Nashville??). :-) It doesn't really matter because my new motto for her next album and tour will be "Have tickets - will travel!"

I am trying to post a couple of pics here. Anyone interested should be able to follow the link below to an album my partner has set up on Facebook:

http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=1 ... 10ef70fe3f

I hope everyone reading here has been able to enjoy this tour, whether in person or through the amazing pictures, videos, and reviews others have so graciously shared!

I used to get frustrated with this when we moved to this new forum, but then I discovered Easy Thumbnails software (http://www.fookes.com/ezthumbs/); it's free and it's really super easy to use, you just open it, click on the photo you want to post on the forum, and then set the size to 600x600, then click "make" and presto, your photo is made.

Whew, we're back. What a phonemail show...it was a dream come true for my 1st L&A experience. We were against the stage for the whole show, rushed as soon as the lights went down. Yup, I requested The Different during the M&G :D She gave the 1st pick of the night as well (same one as last tour, white & purple), I was just as floored as I was in '04 when I got the 1st one (but only teared up a little bit lol)!! :wheee!: Amy took a million pictures that turned out great, will have those & a review up hopefully this week. Wish I could skip work tomorrow to get it all done lol! Just be patient & I'll get it all up ASAP. :peace: &

I am following dogrescuergirl's suggestions and trying to post pics again after making thumbnails...
the top one in this set shows the winner of the autographed guitar given away by Harrah's after the show. (If you are in the pic and object to me posting it here, please just let me know and I'll remove it!) Talk about being lucky!

How cool! I have this same shot, only from further back. LuckyLauren's hand is in the same position in it and everything. Now I know at least who 2 sets of the arms belong to that are reaching up in the air. lol I wish I could post more than 6 pics here, I'd post it so people could identify themselves by their hands. ;-)

LoL, that is not actually my hand...but it is in a few shots. I had a big silver ring on my right index finger, & a watch on my right arm (along w/ several other rings), that might help. Here they are: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=3 ... 1644468132 (really pale ones about to clap, to the right) We're lucky we're lucky we got that shot though, my camera battery was past dead by that point.

Well, the package pictures are up, I wonder why they didn't post all of them on here. :| Any idea who got the set list off the stage? I would love a picture of it.

I think they just try to pick the best of each group, maybe if you contact MEIN they can help out if there was a better shot and they can add it in. :)

Well, there is only 1 group shot up. I emailed asking if I can see the rest of the pictures (not all of them were listed where we order). I would like mine to be on here, but I much rather all of them be available to order.

I get the mic stand all the time. When you are close like that, that's what you get it, it's a trade off. ;) Great photos everyone.

Why I love to be that close, but to the side. I've lucked out the last 2 shows with that position. :peace: :lucky:
The Different...audio. Huge thanks going out to Angie & Dawn for this one!! I still can't believe she played this for me, whow. Can anyone convert this to a MP3 for me, please...

Yes, me too. I always shoot for two or three people to the left or right of the mic stand. I'm glad your requested The Different, first time for me this tour. Melissa, you can play that every show if you'd like.
