Great show, again a great crowd, Sylvia's Mother, yep Don't worry Dawn got it, Melissa especially enjoyed the crickets that were chirping away in the background.

My favorite parts of the show: When she was hassling the people in the front row who showed up late, the crickets serenading her, the switched versus during "I Want To Come Over" (which she called her stalker song), the "Sylvia's Mother" story, and she played one of my fave songs - "Occasionally." What a lovely night!

Melissa explained who wrote the song (Shel Silverstein) and the band who original played it back in the early '70s (Dr Hook & The Medicine Show). She said she totally related to this song in her youth. The song is quite melodramatic and is about the angst of unrequited love and loss. What is really scary is that when she started playing it, I could totally remember the song and the lyrics. I'm old.
don't talk about being old.
On the other hand, I have not heard of Sylvia's Mother; or maybe I just don't recognize it.
I never really remembering experiencing listening to a whole entire song "Shriners Park" were the crowd was so still and you could hear a pin drop ... I am not sure the crickets were even talking at that point. Either it was that or I passed the freak out momentarily because it was off the harmonizzle.
I will send you the information you need to do that and thank you again for everything. YOU RULE!

and yes Lora...and others...we are "old" but in a good way !
It is nice for many of us to celebrate it all together. Her covers during this non-tour tour were really cool for both the young and the old...way cool choices...MLE is so good at uniting people rather than dividing people and that freakin rocks.
Oh screw it... Yes...okay fine...we are all old including MLE...
We have to speak true and be strong about it
