Just got back from the show and had an awesome time.This was my third full lenght Melissa show. I saw her at the NJPAC in June where she blew me away, she did it again last night. The set was totally switched up from that show which I was happy fr because she played many of my favorites.I was surprised to hear Bring Me Some Water, The Only One and Like I Do because people were saying that Melissa was not going to do Like I Do anymore.

What an AWESOME show! I love that venue. Pre-show we met up with Angie & Dawn, Kat, Mare, Frank, TeaRose and her partner, and Giant. We ate dinner and then drove over to Jones Beach to see the ocean as the hurricane was coming in. Awesome waves. Then we headed over to the venue for the show. The set list was:

Yea, somehow we made it to the pit... LOL. Not sure how...I guess the Universe listened YAY! What a fun night...the audience participation was so so incredible for Meet me in the back. It was my 60th show and a freaking awesome one at that. Melissa was so ON! Her chatter was so fun. I love when she said she was just going to do a tour and just talk to people. I could talk to her all night

Yea, somehow we made it to the pit... LOL.

LOL....I was having a good laugh as from my seat I had a perfect view of the two of you "blending" into the pit seats.

First you two grabbed two empty seats that were not together...then I guess one of those seat holders showed up...next thing I see is the two of you sharing a seat... It was even more funny seeing how many times you guys kept looking up the aisle to see if anyone was approaching to claim those seats. And the wide eyed worried but hopeful looks on your faces was even side splitting...it was like are we really going to get away with this..

Well you did, you guys ended up all night in the pit, and an arms length from the stage when the stage rush went down. Good for you.

And did I see one of you crawl onto the stage to grab a guitar pick that was on the floor at at end of the show... ..I think the answer is YES. Guess a girls got to do what a girls got to do.

I got a guitar pick too, but lets just say it did not involve any crawling.

And I got Melissa's sweaty towel too. LOL. So, I was telling my mom the story of us sharing a seat all night and my mom thought it was great. She did say it is great incentive to keep the butt small...LOL.

Marie - good for you getting the pick...the bobble head was cool. Melissa's reaction was hysterical.

Melissa stopped the show a number of times to make contact with those in the front row...and they were all entertaining

It was nice seeing everyone again! Karen, Grace and Maryann, Lea and Mel, Marie and tons of others. And of course the group we were hanging with...ya know...the brits and canucks. (((((Hugs to all)))))

I am anxious to see Lea's video of MLEs reaction to the bobblehead, as I was a bit busy at the time...

I can tell you when I handed it to her...she looked at it and said...OH YOU DYED MY HAIR AND WOW YOU EVEN MADE A HARMONICA.

Later in the show when she came back to my side of the stage to strum her guitar, she said to me...THANKS SO MUCH FOR WHAT YOU DID.

That was nice of her....but then again...its so Melissa.

I feel the need to elaborate on the "sweaty towel" and its significance. LOL. When I was 18 years old my family and I were on vacation in Virginia. We spent some time in Colonial Williamsburg and Virgina Beach but on one of the days we went to Busch Gardens. On that day - which happened to be my birthday, June 24, 1988, I was allowed to decide what I wanted to do that day So, when we got to Busch Gardens and saw that there was a concert happening that night by Richard Marx, who I loved at the time, I pleaded with my parents to take us to the show. My sister, who was 15 then, also loved Richard Marx and was excited for the show.

So, show times comes and our seats were pretty far back but at some point (and I think this is when I began my career as a stage rusher) my sister and I walked all the way up to the pit and ended up standing about 10 feet from the stage. It was an awesome show. He rocked! And at the end of the show - Richard threw his "sweaty towel" into the crowd. My sister and I both grabbed it - along with about 2 other people - but they weren't getting it from us. We clawed it tightly and since we were on the same team - we won. I grabbed my sister who was now clutching the towel and hugged her tightly and we walked out of the crowd SO excited.

That towel hung proudly - unwashed - for years, on the wall that our beds were on (until we found out that my mother secretly washed it soon after it was hung...LOL)

And now I have Melissa's sweaty towel...just cool. And mom, I'm not washing it.

but i dont remember Melissa actually using any of the three towels that were on the stage. I know she drank plenty of water...and someone was handed her water bottle at the end of the show...but don't remember her using the towels.

so i guess you can say you got her towel, but not sure about her sweat.

but then again, I could have missed a thing or two.

I was going to say that at the end of the show I hung around the stage and heard security was upset as someone took a towel off the stage and they were reviewing house video tapes to see who the theif was so they could retrieve it...but I would have to say it was a JOKE and I didn't want people getting all crazy and leaving people saying oh my that poor fan must really feel bad now....so I won't say anything....

Yep the bobblehead moment was just that...a funny one and I did catch some on tape but not at a good angle. I got her holding it up and posing for you all but from the rear but what I did get was all her commentary after she came back to the mic. Pretty amusing so show us this bobblehead now that you have changed her hair color and its about time you talked to her PR people and explain to them that a Harmonica was needed along with the gutiar even though 6 strings as she said wasn't enough but what do those bobblehead people know(as MLE said )


great seeing lots of fans I haven't seen in awhile Nice surprise to see you and Kris there Tracy Notice how I said surprise!! Lots of others from out of town that came all this way...very nice and hope all had a great time. She rocked LI and said she has to do this more often, come back around our parts!

Marie I know you have other tricks up your sleeve so Melissa better watch out!! More shows to come!! Just keep it amusing and light and we'll all have a blast!!
