Went to the show last night. I slept in this morning and had a late breakfast. Now I'm off to work on a home improvement project with my gf. That will give me time to accurately process my concert experience and formulate a review. Be patient, good things come to those that wait. Until then have a good weekend.

Where is the best place to be on a friday night in Atlanta?
At a Melissa Etheridge concert of course...........

These setlists are amazing. I am really hoping for "The Boy Feels Strange" and "Dance Without Sleeping" as they are my fav songs of hers. She has performed Dance Without Sleeping on thhis tour so fingers crossed that it makes it in the setlist for the Canadian shows.

it was my first concert of hers and i loved it. i was surprised at the songs she chose (and DIDN'T choose), and i loved hearing the songs live, but more than that i loved her narration between the songs. some of the things she said really got to me, i was crying there for bits of the show. appropriate she called it the revival tour; i felt like i was at church and felt the holy spirit there strong in the crowd and in her message.

Hey Guys,
The show last night was AMAZING as usual. I got lucky and got 2nd row seats. I was the one with the many signs throughout the night. This is the only way I can communicate with my IDOL. It pays off just to see her smile or comment. She seems a little reserved compared to past shows. Keeping in mind she is a little older now and it seems she has booked herself quite heavily this summer maybe she is trying to save some energy after all she is just getting started.
Hello to all the lovely people I met, who knows out of the numbers and email addresses I got maybe one is "the one" of my future, how about it Michelle? I can't think of anyone better to be with than a fan of "Melissa", someone who gets her "Like the way I do". Thanks to Melissa and all the band members for giving their summer to tour around and entertain us one more time. We love you and wish you all the best in health and in life. Keep on Rockin

This was my first Melissa show. I have wanted to see her live for 20 years...it was worth the wait! The show was everything I imagined, and more! She rocked it!! I was in the pit on the 12th row. It was perfect. I absolutely had the time of my life! During the encore, I had the chance to go backstage. I watched the encore from the wings of the stage on the right. It was AWESOME! Later, I ran into Phillip and had a really cool conversation for several minutes. I didn't meet Melissa, but I saw her get on the bus around 11:30. I was able to get a couple of guitar picks, the wristband she wore during the show, the set list, and a note she wrote to the crew. I definitely went home happy!

I hate to say it but the concert was the most disappointing concert I've seen in recent years. Melissa did mention that she was getting over a cold, and I guess that's the reason she had no energy . She was just very .very laid back, and not into the show at all.
Her band played a lot,but she didn't sing much.
The t-shirts were FORTY dollars! My girlfriend opted to buy me a mug instead. I liked the mug but it was either TWENTY or TWENTY FIVE dollars. When I got home with the mug and unwrapped it there was a warning label on the bottom about the mug containing lead!

I cant get over Friday night! I am so sad that it's Sunday and the highlight of my summer happened so early! It was an amazing show. I hope she comes home to Atlanta next summer. I'm a little disappointed that ATL didn't fill the place but Melissa didn't seem to mind! I loved her band especially Philip - the two of them seem to have great muscial chemistry. Thanks Melissa!

This was my first ME concert! I have been a passive fan since the 1990s, but over the past recent years, I have become a completely dedicated fan! I've bought all her past CDs, and I now have the joy of learning and listening to every CD before Lucky! I got "The Awakening" the day it came out and haven't stopped listening yet!

Anyway, I was at the concert on Friday, and I was completely blown away. My seats were awesome, and I stood up the entire 3 hours! I didn't care about the price of anything... you only live once, and Melissa doesn't come around too much. I bought 2 t-shirts and a teddy bear. Anyway, I loved how she took us on a journey of her life through her music. I really liked how she blended new and old songs to tell the story, too. She totally did not disappoint, and I can honestly say I'm a fan for life!! I got a couple good pics from the show, and I'd be happy to share them. Did anyone closer than me (I was in the right box) get good pics? I'd also love to make some new Melissa-crazed friends!!

The show was awesome. It was my first concert after wanting to see her for many years. I too was on my feet for the entire three hours and yes was a little emotional during I run. Hits too close to home. I think she and the band did an awesome job. I can't wait to see her again. Rock on !!!!!!!

Are you pulling our leg with the lead bit?!?
If that is true it is quite shocking, given that Melissa is all about going green. She even sells organic cotton t-shirts. Doesn't make sense to sell a beverage cup that contains lead. Which mug is it? I've been using one of her red Lucky tour mugs for like two years, I sure as heck hope it doesn't contain lead in it too!

Sorry I wish I were joking about the mug. Didn't anyone else buy one or did everyone need gas money? I absolutely adore Melissa Ethridge, she is my favorite song writer performer of all time. She has helped me through a lot of things. It wasn't that I disliked the concert altogether but it was definantly different than her performances in the past. I wouldn't call my response ungrateful since I'm the one who purchased the tickets.

the coffee mugs do contain lead which i thought was a little unusual for melissa...it is in the painted image on the outside, mine had a warning too i saw later. i'm kind of scared i will mess it up putting it to everyday use anyway...could also do for pencils. i would've bought it anyway, it's purty.

Hello. This was the first Melissa concert for my partner and myself. My partner has been a fan for many years and has often relied on Melissa's music for a source of strength and hope while living in our rural community in Tennessee. We were thrilled to join the fan club this year and purchase tickets for the Atlanta show. Upon receiving tickets, we were assigned to the 9th row back. Again, we were just excited to be there. Two ladies who were assigned tickets for the front row and center (left of pit) asked if we wanted to exchange tickets after part of the show. We immediately traded. To those two ladies, we do not know your names....but we are SO GRATEFUL for your kind offer. You have no idea how much that meant because this was our first Melissa concert and this was the birthday gift for my partner. SO, THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH! We totally understood why you wanted to trade after receiving a few jabs from elbows and being bumped into by intoxicated individuals nearby. Nonetheless, it was a life-changing experience for the two of us!!

The performance was amazing, and I now wish we had purchased tickets for later dates as well! With a cold or not, Melissa still brought the house down!

Still smiling after the show,

After seeing my first Melissa show in Atlanta, which is where I live, I just purchased two fan club tickets for her concert on August 7th in Chicago! I've never been to Chicago, so I thought, "Hm, this would a new experience. Why the hell not?!" I NEVER do anything like this, but I suppose I could use a vacation, and Melissa is so good for my heart!

There is a Proposition that was passed several years ago - can't remember the number - which requires all manufacturers to put that sticker on items that have even the slightest amount of lead in the design on the outside of the cup. You see signs in the stores, too saying that some items may contain lead. I doubt there is a safety issue unless you consistently lick the design on the front of the cup.

not licking the outside, i thought of that too. there is lead in everyday life, not least of all at these computers we type on; i am not scared to use the coffee cup for the lead but debating whether i want to keep it new. not worth much if you keep it new because it doesn't get everyday love but then again you know nothing will happen to it. my shirt i know i'll wear though. i got the brown one, dreams we create. at first i thought that was the line from keep it precious, but that's wings that we create, if i'm not mistaken. maybe a reference to a song on awakening but i would have to go through and look for those words agian. i remember in her speaking she talked alot about dreams creating things. i have listened to the awakening through several times but not really dove into it. i understood the songs better after the concert though, hearing it with her story, it was like, "NOW i get it" lol. lyrics hitting me. i cried during "unexpected rain". "i know i did my best/i never meant to hurt no one." and "the universe listened". beautiful.

post is not about coffee cups anymore, that's ok.

Well, it is a very sexy picture.
Melissa's music, I always got it. Her music, her positive attitude , her bravery, her unwillingness to give up, it has all been a huge inspiration for me.

QUESTION: I saw a lot of people with passes go backstage before the concert in Atlanta. I wasn't aware that there was a travel package, and I was wondering how these people got to go backstage. I didn't even know that was an option for this concert!! Anyway, I'm just really curious.

It doesn't show a travel package on the tour page...I'm wondering if they were part of a radio contest or something?

And on that note...the other night I was at a meeting and mentioned something about going to NYC in July. One gal asked me why I was going there and I told her I was going to see MLE and she said, "oh, I met her once" and I was like what! LOL She says, "yeah, when she was here back in '96, we won back stage passes on the radio and got to meet her" and she said, "yeah, I was never a big fan or anything, we just won them and went" and I just shook my head LOL She said she thought MLE was very cool and very nice.

Yeah, I know there was no travel package. There were AT LEAST 25 people ushered backstage with passes or a green sticker-type thing that had a huge "E" for Etheridge that they put on their clothing. It was a steady stream of people before the concert started. I just didn't know how they got to go back there! I'm going to the show in Chicago and was wondering if anything like this was going on for that particular show, too.

Hard to say...it could have been anything...maybe a charity fundraiser that MLE donated the tickets to or something like that.
