Add your pre-show experiences as well as your review of the concert

This morning I am just organizing my signs for the show. I will post them here after the 2nd show.

and its gonna be unfreakinbelieveable. Cant wait till tonite and there is some pre-show fun gonna happen also....you just never know what you might find on youtube to come.

WOOOOOOWWWWWWWW! What an AWESOME night!

I got to Madison Square Garden at around 4:45 PM as I was meeting HugsY2K for dinner. As I get there and am standing waiting, I notice who I think is Kelly O'Donnell. So I called my girlfriend and told her. She told me to go up to her and ask her...LOL. Simple, right? Well, NO, Ia m chicken, I mean, what if it isn't her? So, I hemmed and hawed and finally HugsY2k shows up. And she confirmed, it is her...she thinks...LOL. So we move closer to her to get a better look and Yup! It's her. So I said to her "Are you Kelly?" She said back to me "What?" so I repeated my question. She said, "yes". and smiled. So we proceeded to talk about the Melissa and the NY Liberty and just a bunch of small talk. So I realized, she is standing there waiting for someone...Rosie? Tammy? Who? So, we waited around for a few and a car pulls up and out steps Rosie O'Donnell. She walked over to us, chatted a bit and signed some autographs and mentioned that she just got out of a tap dance class....LOL. So they went into MSG and we made our way to the box office to get our tickets.

After getting tickets, we went to dinner at the restaurant called "7", decent food...they were playing Melissa music...so it drew us in there. Afterwards we made our way back over to MSG and waited outside the Wamu theater doors for a bit. They weren't letting anyone in yet so we made our way outside to the front of MSG. We met up with Ladybugkris & Sal, NYBABE and her pertner Melinda, Penfan, IAM, chatted with Camille, Bitey and others as well

We previewed IAM's signs and they were awesome!

So it came time for the concert, so we made our way inside and took our seats. There was a bunch of hubbub where Rosie was sitting but really no sooner did we get in there and the show started.

The show opened with I Take You With Me. I LOVE that song. I don't have a set list, but I am sure someone got it. One thing that was really cool was hearing Ruins, Skin Deep/Secret Agent combo, Enough of Me, and so many more...Awesome show, they ended with Not Tonight and Like The Way I Do. It was perfect. And Lea with an A was recognized and mentioned by Melissa

When Melissa was reading "her mail" she read my sign asking her to play Come On Out Tonight and said "no". Then I flipped the sign over that read "if not now, when? If not today, then what about tomorrow?" And she read most of that out loud...LOL... Then said "what song was it you wanted to hear?" So I flipped my sign back over and she said "hmmmm, maybe." LOL. It was fun.

HugsY2K was passed a rose that one woman was trying to give to Melissa and couldn't so, Melissa motioned, with her teeth that Hugsy2k should put it in her mouth. It was a chore, but it ended up in Melissa's mouth and she held the rose with her teeth for the entire guitar solo of Like The Way I Do. If anyone got pictures or video of that, please post them!!!!!

After the show, we met up with Helpmemama and Carol. We waited outside for the guys to come out. I met up with Philip!!! He is SOOOOOO nice!!! I stood there and talked to us for about 10 minutes. I was really excited to meet him and tell him how awesome he is. He hugged me

and dug around his pockets and guitar case for a pick but could only come up with a green Dunlop pick, which I thought was cool

I have numberous pictures and a little video of me with Philip!! Too cool, he is really sooo nice!

Ladybugkris's husband Sal was talking with Fritz for a while. Everyone was really friendly and really willing to hang with us for a bit. The only one we did not see come out was Mark. Not sure where he was.

Then Rosie and Kelly came out again

Helpmemama got all nervous...and wanted to meet her. So I took her by the hand and walked her over to Rosie and said "Rosie, my friend was nervous to meet you so I wanted to introduce you to her" LOL....talking to Rosie like she was my next door neighbor...LOL. So they chatted a a few minutes and got a picture taken with her along with Ladybugkris and Hugsy2k

. I asked Rosie why she was taking a tap dance class and she said for No No Nanette and she is doing a show on the gay cruise next week.

Then a few minutes later, Melissa and Tammy came out with Steven. There were only like 5 of us there but Melissa and Tammy smiled and waved and got in the car and drove off. It was fun seeing them.

Anyway, what an awesome night! And I get to get up in 5 hours, go to work and do it ALLLL over again tomorrow night. I could get used to this...LOL. We headed to the bar for a drink afterwards...

That was really cool! Now you are really spoiled. First Melissa concert and in the first row!!! I am not sure who you were but I know there were people from Greece in the front row...

What can I say but what an awesome show it was

We had some awesome songs last night and I know its not a tour premiere but really enjoyed 2001 and her mixing up her songs. When you think she done with older stuff and on to the newer material she tosses stuff in especially that medley that Tracy mentioned.

Nice seeing so many great fans prior to the show and I owe you IAM for putting me on with a bunch of others....payback is a bitch but it wil come(inside joke) and I can definitely say it was on me.

Shout out to Tracy, Hugs, Kris, Sal, Lu and friend,i IAM & Lucy....nice seeing Camile and Bitey also... good to see Bluehaze and Ridger8 too. Camille keep up the good work on the tour blog. Chatted a bit with Dawn and Angie pace yourself gals you have tons more to go

...nice to see you gals and how cool was it that you scored closer seats unexpectantly. Timing is everything.
IAM again those signs were great and hopefully better seats tonite for MLE to see more but Im glad you got a WOW from MLE at the end when she saw some of your banners. We all know you work so hard on them

Loved the entire night. We were lucky and were in the 10th row and I say that honestly because were usually a few rows back. Dead center was nice

A bit of excitement towards the end but no worries....I keep on truckin! Philip and Melissa were amazing together and their interactions during songs we know were intense....always great to have those on camera!

Hugs..great going handing that rose to Melissa and didnt know you had to be so athletic to get it to her

Im sure the person who got it later as she spit it out into the audience is dying

Nice to see some other faces I hadnt met before and probably will more tonite as we meet at Mustang Harrys. before the show. Even if you arent joining us for dinner come by and say hi.

Great to have hellos from Melissa but that would not have happened if it wasnt for Tracy and Linda. Thanks for that sign and even the lights up so Melissa could read it and also Tracys other signs. I had a bright pink sign but by its self in the 10th row no way would MLE see it but with help from everyone she knew I was there and mentioned talking to me in CT as I waved the sign

Cool that she would remember it. No doubt others will get a thrill sometime soon when she plays that song again..maybe tonite

LTWID was amazing and my guess is well hear POMH tonite.

Everyone whose heading to the show tonite that wasnt there last night....get your dancing shoes on....it was awesome and here we go again!

I have to agree with all of the above - show was awesome as usual! Great hanging with everyone already mentioned

But what is the deal with everyone sitting down during the show?? I know some songs are slow, but really - sitting - I just can't manage to do it at a MLE concert. But thanks to all that did - it made my 10row seats seem like front row - clear view of all the fun :mrgreen:

And Tracy is TOTALLY downplaying her chat with Philip - she had an awesome sign that said Let The Love In and held it up during the show, which he saw, and then she showed him again outside. He mentioned how cool it was the MLE sang on that for him and that it only took her one take in the studio. He thought Tracy totally rocked - which of course she does - and really spent quite a bit of time talking with her. She got a hugged at least twice and he really made her night. Rock on Philip - you are very cool!

Sal did spend a lot of time with Fritz - he is a Jackson Browne fan and when Fritz is not with MLE, he's with Jackson!! So hubby was checking up on his guy, got some good info for his board - lol he was very happy, had been trying for 3 shows now to met Fritz so I'm glad we got that accomplished - thanks Tracy for making that happen.

O.k. - see ya all at Mustang Harrys and lets do it all again!!!

Hi everyone, I am new to this board, and please forgive me if this is not the proper place for this post...
I was at last nights show with my wife, Maria. What a show it was, of course we missed the end and our favorite song.
Last night my blood pressure dropped, and I tried to get out of the arena to get some water. I dropped to the floor a couple of times and I am a pretty big guy, so my wife was having trouble handling me. There was a woman who helped Maria (and me) out by holding my head up by the exit. When I finally came back to my senses she was gone. Maria told me she didn't work there, just a fan at the concert I never got a chance to say thank you. I am hoping that she will check this thread and see this.
Whoever you are, THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!!

What can I say that everyone hasn't already said. OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!! Melissa is just amazing and the band WOW. I have been to a lot of shows but last night was different....The energy, I don't know what it was...but WOW WOW WOW! And she did one of my favorite songs...All The Way to Heaven so I was a happy little camper!

Ok, and TRACY, OMGGGGGGGGGG Thank you so much for introducing me to your "friend" Rosie!!!!! lol.....I was like an idiot.......so so starstruck you have no idea. I am not ever like that being that I am the mom of three accomplished actors and have met many celebrities, but Rosie is one person I have wanted to meet since I first saw her do standup in the 80's. I am just going over the moment again and again saying to myself, "self, what the hell did you say to Rosie and how stupid did you sound?".....I honestly thought I was going to cry and those that know me know..."i don't cry!"

I am beyond ready to do it all again tonight...Looking forward to seeing everyone at dinner and to meeting boardies I have not met yet!

WOW, what a night. Am beat as I had to pull a 24 hr --headed to work to make up some time for being out on vacation after 1) the concert, 2) hanging out with Tracy, LadyBugKris, Sal, HelpMeMama, & Carol, Rosie, Philip & Fritz (not sure where Mark was), and 3) grabbing drinks at Mustang Harrys.

Anyway, had a blast from beginning to end. :mrgreen:

Highlights described above by Tracy, NYBabe, & Ladybugkris --so where does that leave me? Hhhhhmmm ... I made some signs and MLE responded "no"

to song requests (bad timing), but she responded well to the others (ie, Life is Good) 8-)

. Am still replaying "The Rose" moment 8-)

--so if anyone out there has a picture or video, please email or PM me. Thank you to the gal who it came from. It was certainly fun!

yea I was there....well some know what I mean....security issues...but well try again.....anyway what I did get..OMG is utterly amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, and I forgot to say THANK YOU to the lady who helped me give Melissa the rose (who then found a very original way to ... hold it!). I don't know who she is and I cannot remember her face but Thanks A Lot!!! This was a great moment of the show. And yes, Tracy, now I am really spoiled, she talked to me 2 times, and she even picked MY song, what else can anyone expect?

OMG Stella, that was your rose ... it was I who gave it to her. I'd have to also agree on the way she took the rose ... that was like incredibly sexy! Am still on a high from it. It wasn't easy. Tracy continues to joke how she felt the need to lift me up because I'm not that tall to begin with. (LOL) Funny how I wrote a sign "U R NOT SHORT" at the Atlantic City/Borgata show in response to MLE's phone call with NYBabe.

Was anyone else here interviewed out front? They told me what station they were, but I forgot. They said to look on TV on Monday night, and on their website after that. But I forget who they were.

I was interviewed and I gave them a sneak peak at some of my banners...LOL....and then I got offers from other fans if they could buy them....LOL.

I think they asked me what MLE stood for and I think I said PEACE....I forgot the other questions they asked me but I remember stating that I made these signs to commemorate MLEs 20th anni of her first album release because I did not see anyone else celebrating that milestone.....LOL.

Hey everyone... I don't know if any of you remember me. I'm Julie... I haven't talked to any one in a while but Lea (nybabe) we exchanged some melissa stuff. And Tracy, I went with you to the Musick Fest in PA to see melissa

Anywho, Was just wondering who all is going to be there tonite? I'm in fan club seating and I need to make sure I can get up to the stage! lol. Look for me ok? I'll look for you all too. I'll be wearing a black shirt with a rainbow on it that says "recuiter" and I have pinkish hair. If you see me, please come and say hi!! Only a few more hours now and we'll be seeing Melissa once again! :-D

Hhhhmmm ... anyone out there with the full-length --would love the beginning.

MSG has something called The Monitor - Fan Cam --I tried looking it up but computer keeps freezing up. Anyway, try there!

If I am not mistaken it was about 805-810. Great show!!!

I am SO beyond jealous of you NY people ! LOL. I think I will try to make it up there next tour. Sounds like you all are having a blast !!! Did I mention I was jealous ??? Keep posting pics or links. And I'd like to see these signs too IAM. Lea, keep me posted on your fun times.

Thank you for the wonderful posts!!!

It is a great thing to find out about the show for those who were not able to attend it [like myself]. Even thought I was not there, your posts made me feel like I was a part of it. I am happy that everyone had a blast.
… And thank you KEL for posting the ROSE clip. That was great!!!

Melissa is just amazing; such a kind and generous soul. I love the on stage chemistry between her and Philip.
I just love the whole band. THEY ROCK!!!

The second show is just about to start within an hour. I hope it is another wonderful night of rock and roll and found memories. Please continue sharing those special moments with the rest of the world.

Great show as always..Melissa sounded great and of course the band rocked! Of course my favorites were the old songs,brings me back to the first concert in 1988. We had 3rd row dead center..great seats..Cant wait to hear about tonights show 8-)

OMG, I love videos with great interaction between Melissa and Philip!!!! Post them Lea, post em!!! My daughter will be thrilled also as she is a huge Philip fan. She has dreams of meeting him in Lowell next week

Here comes another vid of Melissa talking to the fans....looking for me in the crowd after (Tracy & Linda) held up signs saying I was a few rows back....then my partner waved the folded up Pink sign I made that I knew shed never see so thanks to all who directed her to me...also she shouted out to Stella_g from Greece who was in the front row that night as this was her first show! Nice meeting you the 2nd nite STELLA_G we shall be in touch!

Lots of fun...talk talk talk...MLE style then Ruins.

Next up will be our pre-show dinner fun at Mustang Harrys(before last nights show) which will be on the 10th thread...talk about funny and yea I can laugh at myself....you can laugh along with it as I interview Tracy, Hugs, Helpmemama, Kris,Sal....Tracys Brother ......and the notorious IAM!!

and wait till you see her posters!! Hmmm I think loads of fans were trying to take them home with them.....that is how great they were! Melissa knows...she held them up during the 2nd show but not sure I can post that vid as its too long for youtube. Have no fear you will see them another way
