Did you grab the drumstick, too???

Postby RB16 on Sat Jul 19, 2008 9:48 pm

Hi all...to you lovely Brits out there, is one of you the one that grabbed the other end of Fritz's drumstick at the end? If so, please respond! Need to get in touch with you, if possible.

Phenomenal show tonight...Melissa, despite a cold, played for almost 3 hours, sucking on lemons and drinking tea to keeping going between songs. Amazing. Hope everyone enjoyed it as much as we did!

Unbelievable show....she topped the night before and Reading, which I didn't think was possible. Security was very lax. We were at the stage before the lights went down. All the Way to Heaven was such a treat. Melissa and the band were on fire all night and the crowd was right there with them...She amazes me!!

Well she had a cold when we saw her in Louisville, then I think it went away and she must have gotten another one. Hopefully she gets better soon.

:twitchshocked: So tired I missed this thread for my review and mistakenly started one so here it is again.

Ok, I am convinced no concert or live performance (except for future Melissa concerts) will ever be able to measure up to the two concerts I just experienced in Lowell, Massachusetts!!!!! The bar has been set too high. Both concerts were spectacular, but the second night ROCKED THE HOUSE DOWN!!!!! I had sooooo much fun and the MEIN Travel Package ROCKED!!!!! Meeting Melissa in person was surreal. I was so nervous!!!I felt like one of those cartoon characters that when nervous starts sweating buckets, LOLOLOL! I have a bad feeling that my picture with Melissa reflects a very nervous me!! Melissa was so calm, cool, and collected. She just walked into the room unannounced like a long lost friend. She's very very genuine. We got to write a message we would like sent from the Universe on the Tibetan Prayer Flags hanging at the back of the stage. That was way cool; I wrote "Fun!". The set lists from both nights were great, but I discovered that during the concert I really didn't care what she played! However, "All The Way To Heaven" was especially beautiful. My 16 yr old daughter was with me and she had a mind-blowing experience....SHE GOT PHILIP'S PIC BOTH NIGHTS!!!!!!! She was so overwhelmed by the experience the first night that she cried all the way back to the hotel on the bus which was at least a 45min ride. The second
night EVEN I WAS SHOCKED to see Philip make a bee-line for her with yet a second pic!! Thank you Philip!! I had my own dream realized the second night also. My dream was to experience a Melissa concert with my elbows on the stage with NOBODY in front of me...AND IT HAPPENED!!!! I was at the stage right in front of Melissa and Philip with my elbows resting on the stage! I could never ask for more. The Universe has truly listened. To watch Melissa play, talk, and share her wisdom for 3hrs from such an UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL vantage point was truly life altering. I will never be the same. Now I am back home in rural Virginia. I have these strangely large and painful bruises on my elbows and arms and the palms of my hands are bruised. I don't remember banging them on the stage. Did I really rock that hard?!?! I guess so, but it was SOOOOOO WORTH IT!!!!!! Kathleen (and Amanda).

P.S. While I was in Boston, my other 14yr old daughter downloaded 110 tunes from LimeWire and untold YouTube videos of the Jonas Brothers and now my satelite high-speed internet service says I have violated the "Fair Access Policy" and has restricted me to dial-up speed!!!!!! I cannot even watch the YouTube videos available from my OWN concert for the next 3-4 weeks, wahhhhhhhhhhhhh.

I'm a newbie to this board but I just had to say how AWESOME Melissa was, even with a cold. I took my friend who didn't think she knew her music and she was so happily surpised that she knew more than she realized and she will go back again!! I wish I could go again this tour but I too missed the shows closer to my NJ home and went to the Lowell show. I'm so glad I did. I loved the venue and minus the rain it would have been a perfect night!

Thanks to Melissa for another great concert experience! Feel better!!

Oh, I know what you mean! Does Fan Asylum know how to throw a party or what!? It's been a month tonight since I met Melissa, & the feeling still hasn't gone away...I doubt it ever will. I hope your picture turns out well, I was worried mine would reflect the fact that I had been crying. But once again the Universe blessed me. (I have a 20x30" print of it above my TV as I type this LoL.) I'm so jealous that ya'll got to write on the flags! We (Amy, Eleni, & myself) have agreed that we must do a meet & greet at least once a tour from now on.

Oh, is that not THE BEST!? The 3 of us were leaning on the stage as well for the entire show...there is nothing else like it. LoL, you have bruises, E & I had shin splints & could barely move the next few days. We felt like we had been in a very loud car accident, from jumping all damn night. But it was beyond worth it, Melissa named us The Crazy Girls!!! :wheee!: :P

I was at the concert on Sat. night and couldn't have had a better time. I came with my friend who hadn't ever seen MLE in person before. She was blown away . If people don't see MLE in person they don't understand how incredible it is. I have seen her 5 times and she gets better every time. Can't wait for another tour on the east coast. Maybe she will come to Maine again. I can only hope....

I am so glad everyone seems to have enjoyed hearing All The Way to heaven. I requested it on the previous night and she promised she would do it on Saturday. I held my request up again at what I thought was an apprportiate place in her 'story.' She said something about it just being the right time - any later and the opportunity would have passed. She did the same request for me 2 years ago in Orlando and it was just as enjoyable.
Thank you for whoever posted it on YouTube. If you still have the clip prior to the song where she speaks about the request I'd really appreciate it.
I got an Ovation guitar signed by Melissa on the Friday and got to meet Tammy & kids too. The band (& Melissa) also signed a pick guard for me and I got to go to the Meet & Greet later too. A very unexpected treat!!
Sorry not to be going to any other dates on the tour but Lowell was AWESOME!!!

I just saw the travel package pictures (http://www.melissaetheridge.com/tour/tp_pix/boston/), & only saw 1 small group shot w/ Melissa. Did everyone get a picture w/ her? I'm a tad jealous that ya'll got to write on the flags, & they got a few shots of ya'll talking to her. It looks like ya'll had an amazing time, please don't forget to share all the goodies here: http://digest.fanasylum.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=172 :wheee!:

Hey Lauren, everyone got a picture with Melissa. They just posted one group for some reason and IT WAS MINE!! I'm the one standing right next to Melissa in the pink shirt. My daughter is kneeling right in front of me and Melissa has her hand on Amanda's shoulder. Remember I mentioned I'd been so nervous that I'd been sweating bullets like a nervous cartoon character? My hair attests to that, lololol. It was SO MUCH FUN! 8-)
